Kerala Kerala is referred to, as God’s own country as God has generously bestowed this land with the bounties of nature and so it only seems natural. Kerala is named as one of the ‘Ten Paradises of the World’ and ‘Fifty Places of a Lifetime’ by the National Geographic Traveler Magazine being the much sought-after destination for tourists in India and abroad. This place leaves every tourist spell bound, making them come back year after year with its alluring serenity.
Kerala has everything for the tourists, be it the sun-kissed beaches or the misty hill stations; the rhythmic backwaters or the forestlands rich with all varieties of flora and fauna; pilgrim centres or historic monuments.  A single visit to Kerala will let you know why Kerala has the lovely epithets attached to it. 

Ayurveda :
The traditional medical practice, Ayurveda is assumed to be evolved around 600 BC in India. This oldest system of medicine is mainly stressed on the prevention of body ailments in addition to curing them. Ayurveda has been practised ever since the era of Dravidians and Aryans. This unique, indispensable branch of medicine has a complete naturalistic system that depends on the diagnosis of the body's humours - vata, pitta and kapha - to achieve the right balance. 

Houseboat :
Houseboats are the unique beauty of Kerala which is really a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Specially designed tourism houseboats are huge, slow moving exotic barges used for leisure trips, and are in fact reworked version of kettuvallams of olden times. The traditional forms of original kettuvallams were used to carry tons of rice and spices.

Backwaters :
The wide coastal regions of Kerala have a network of waterways, inlets from the sea, and estuaries of over forty rivers, lakes and natural canals connecting coastal towns. These interlinked bodies of waterways are known as the backwaters of Kerala. There are many unique species of aquatic life including crabs, frogs and mudskippers, water birds such as terns, kingfishers, darters and cormorants, and animals such as otters and turtles live in and alongside the backwaters. The Kerala backwaters features Palm trees, pandanus shrubs, various leafy plants and bushes colouring the surrounding landscape, a rich green. 

Beaches :
The alluring, balmy and clean beaches of Kerala are ideal getaways to watch the pageantry of the wandering clouds, the changing hues of the sky and the glowing sun disappearing down the horizon. The unlimited adventures like racing the waves, chasing the crabs, soaking in the sun, or simply watching another day at the beach unfold leisurely are worth to be experienced. 

Hill Stations :
The unique topography of Kerala includes some of the best hill stations in South India. The emerald green plantations covering the hills topped with misty halo make it worth trip uphill. The majesty of the undulating mountains, the meandering rivers, the tea plantations and the purple hills dominating the vista are the must see wonders of Kerala. The summer resorts of Kerala are thousands of metres above sea level offering a unique experience on the lap of nature.

Waterfalls and Dams :
Numerous forests and hill stations in Kerala results in some of the best waterfalls and dams you have ever seen. Water gurgling down the rocky precipices, framed by lush green foliage presents some breath taking destinations. The falls at Athirappally, Soochipara, Thusharagiri or Thommankoothu, presents a facet of nature that is calm, soothing and wild, all at the same time. Beautifully landscaped road to Athirappally gives glimpses of the milky white waters that gush past rocks and boulders, roaring a rhythm of nature.

Wildlife Sanctuaries :
The lush green tropical forests of Kerala attracts some exotic flora and fauna that make it worth to get a glimpse of life in the wild. The hills, rocks and valleys which contribute to the very unique character of Wayanad and Idukki provide a lot for adventure tourism. The adventure seekers can have lots of fun from the wildlife of Periyar, Thekkady and the deep dense forests. Other activities like Bird watching, jungle safaris etc are perfect for adventure lovers, when exploring the wildlife of Kerala.
